The asphalt melter is designed for the preparation, heating and pouring of joint sealants used in the construction of roads, bridges and expansion joints. It features a double-wall tank with external insulation and indirect heating via thermal oil to ensure efficient and uniform heating of the material. The design also includes a compartment for preheating the emulsion hose and manual applicator bar. For safe operation on roads, the machine is equipped with wheel chocks and warning lights.
The asphalt melter is available in several sizes – smaller versions are mounted on a single-axle trailer, while larger models are mounted on a tandem-axle trailer.
The trailers feature an adjustable drawbar with the option of an A50-X coupling or a 40 mm towing eye. Power is provided by an independent diesel engine which, via a hydraulic system and a gear pump, ensures mixing, spraying and suction of residual material from the distribution system. On request, the units can be equipped with a hydraulic drive to facilitate movement at the worksite and with a compressor for cleaning the distribution system. In the larger version, an additional independent compressed-air compressor can be installed for blowing debris out of joints and for powering pneumatic tools.
